In an effort to grow the kidlit blogging community, MotherReader and Lee Wind are organizing Comment Challenge 2010. The idea is that we all connect with one another by commenting on each other's blogs. The goal is to comment on at least five kidlit blogs per day. You can sign up to be officially entered. They're offering a prize package.
I know from Google Analytics that there are far more of you reading than commenting here, and I'm sure you're doing the same at other blogs. I'm guilty of it myself. But here's an opportunity to reach out and say hello to all those other lovers of children's literature out here in the blogosphere. To those of you who have already signed up, we'll see you in the Comments section!

Thanks, Michelle. A great idea and I'm going to sign up!
I'm not primarily a kidlit writer, but I do follow this blog and I fear I've been doing more lurking than commenting. So here 'tis. Great idea. Commenting on other blogs is the way to blog success. It's all about networking.
Hi Michelle,
Well, I found you all via the comment challenge. I love how you're blogging as a critique group. What a fun idea (and a time saver, too!). Looking forward to learning more about you and your work.
Excellent idea!
I'm all signed up and rearing to go :)
oooo, me! me! I want in!
Hey, thanks for all the comments, everyone. And Lori, welcome to Slushbusters!
Reaching out, trying to join the community. Look forward to reading more!
While I'm writing currently kidlit, my blog is more about my life—about my reading, writing, retirement, rural living, cats, and a border collie. I usually post something about writing every week or so, though.
Visiting each other's blogs sounds like a good idea. Now, whose shall I visit first?
What a great idea! I'll have to go blog visiting/commenting tomorrow!
Hi ladies, am in the process of going hither and yon leaving comments in my wake. It is actually a lot of fun checking out all the blogs devoted to Kidlit. Happy commenting!
I just found this blog through the Happy Birthday Post on the "I Need a Publisher Blog". It's been fun to look through and comment on new blogs today.
Now I'm going to do so through the challenge link on this post.
Sometimes, I just get in such a hurry to read all of the wonderful things that I find in my reader that I forget to go and comment. I think that RSS readers definitely detract from the sense of community!!
Hello, Jan, Theresa and Iheartmonster! Thanks for stopping by.
And yes, using a feed does detract from commenting. I'm a big fan of my Google Reader. I can scroll quickly through the blogs I follow, and then easily link to those I want to comment on.
